What is the Florence Griswold Museum?
The FloGris Museum is an art museum and the historic home of Florence Griswold. She ran a boarding house that attracted artists at the time and became a bohemian get away, where artists painted outside... and directly on her walls. She also had 25 cats at one point. The museum has a rotating art exhibit that we'll have access to at the beginning of the night. The wedding will take place outside and the reception will be under a tent.

When should I book hotels?
As soon as possible (most are cancellable!). This area of CT is lovely, but there are limited options and rates are cheaper the further we are from Memorial Day weekend.
How do I get here?
Old Lyme is easily accessible by commuter rail and Amtrak via Old Saybrook, air via Hartford, New Haven, and New York Area airports, and car. We’ll add more info here soon.
Should I rent a car?
That's up to you! While Uber is available, it's a bit less available than if we were in a city. Trains take you close to where you need to go and we will be gathering info for local cab companies as well. We will provide transport from the selected hotels to and from the wedding, more details on this soon!
If you'd like to explore the area outside of wedding festivities, a car will make that easier.
Dress code?
Funky semi-formal. Meaning... wear what you want! Wear that suit or dress that's in the back of your closet or use us as an excuse to buy that dress, suit, whatever you've been eyeing. Don't be scared of texture, shape, color, or anything else fun. Most importantly we want you to be comfortable and feel good. Suit-wearing-folk... no ties encouraged. The wedding will take place outside, if that informs what you'd like to wear.
